Good evening all,

As I was shopping around I found a potential source for a heat blanket for my turbo on my 6V92TA. But me not being that familiar with turbos, I am not fluent in the sizing terms. They have blankets for a T3 and T4, does anyone know what the size of the turbo for the 6V92TA is?

Also, as far as heat wrap, what is the temp that is usually running on the exhaust? I know I could started her up and run her and take the temp, but I don't have a non contact temp gun and I'm sure someone knows the rough temp without having to burn through a few gallons of Diesel.

Thank you,
Jonathan

My familiarity with t3 and t4 is that they are smaller turboes for car engines. My td 6.5 pickup has seen 1150 degrees according to the pyrometer.

6v92TA engines are 600 to 700 degrees @ 2100 rpm ,they use a TV 7511 turbo about any Detroit blanket fits one and they are pricey around 400 bucks

Ok thank you. I was thinking that the t3 or t4 was a small turbo. I found some blankets online for about $20 rated up to 1000 Degree Fahrenheit so I figured they were a bit small. But good information going forward as I continue to keep an eye out for things such as this
