We had a combo front loader, but got rid of it cause the laundromat is faster for us.

Laundromat faster for us. When at Quartszite because not good internet we go in town and do the clothes and can get on the internet to do what we need to do at the same time. When on the road we stop and find the local one and just go do it and then have supper somewhere in town. More closet space in the bus without washer & dryer.

Prior to full timing I found a used LG Washer/ dryer and loved it.  It is extremely slow. But to set it up with a load and go to work. I would get home and my clothes were washed and dried.   Due to poor lay out on my current coach I will not be getting one until more updates and renovations are complete.  The unit I had was ventless  so the humidity is my only concern.  The unit was a single 120v unit rather than a 120 and 220.

Laudromats for me.  Fastest way to do clothes.  Space in the bus is at a premium :o

I can't recall ever meeting anyone with an RV washer/dryer who actually used it for laundry.  Drying beach towels or kids swimsuits - yes. Laundry - no.  Laundromat gets it all done in a short period of time with someone else's sewer and water.

Our bus came with a Washer/Dryer Combo i.e. Splendide
But as Bob points out, we've never used it yet for doing laundry. I did run it once as a check during the inspection before purchasing it.

Over the years, have heard the same comments against them. The most common one is how long it takes to dry clothes. Maybe if they make a gas dryer version it would be quicker? I guess roof top ac would mask the noise of them running.
How many run them going down the road? Will they work through inverter?

the washer we have is a apartment size ge 24" wide and is very quiet and the dryer is the same size ge 120 volt and yes it takes longer because of the 120 volts but DW uses a drying rack for most of the drying

we went for years before I installed them and now

I know this Canadian that uses his for liquor storage when he heads back north every year :o .It is just something else to go wrong in a RV full timers one would be worth it maybe,we have always had one I never used one but the wife likes one so there you have it all I did was fix a few leaks

How many typical btus does an average dryer output? I guess they could be useful for additional heat in cold weather. We have a combo in ours. Wife likes it.

My wife also likes the small combo units she says they do a good job, these new house type energy saving units will take hours to do a load I don't get it ,then you need to buy special balls for the dryer or they knot the clothes up it was a big waste of $2500.00 IMO but the chimes have a nice tone  8).It was trash compactors for awhile, ice makers (I have 3 of those take out),dish washers btdt, the list goes on but my very favorite is the stinking claw foot bath tub  :-\
