SMF is the forum software, it seems WP is used for the main portal site. It currently uses woocommerce, a WP plugin to handle the subscriptions I suspect.

Gary - I'm far more into the Drupal ecosystem but can help with WP too. I'll contact you soon as I can free some time to help. Right now, my dad passed Friday night so a bit tied up for the next few weeks but free after that. don

Gary just pulling your chain. Do we get many chances to do what we want. When I reset my password I can do whatever I want as long as it has 12 digits and at least one has to be an upside down asterisk.  I was having one of my old fart moments and thought this is a bus forum not the bank statement of wells fargo.  I know all about the canned system and how we have to use what they supply. Thank you for the site and as long as you have to please more than one you have a thankless job. ( and maybe with only one )

The level of Entropy required for secure passwords increases all of the time due to bad people.  A relatively secure password is what we like to see to read the magazine.  Yes, it is not a bank account, but it has value.  I was a system manager off and on over the years and when I started out in this business in 1972, we didn't even use passwords.  After that they were required, but I knew most of the passwords used by the people I worked with and some had simple ones like "Rob", the guys first name and last name for the username and password such as "Paul Bearer" which is easy to remember. Now that if frowned upon in most places because it is not people trying to break into computers but computers trying to break into computers.

If we removed all levels of protection, people would use the most common password "password" or the the second most popular password "12345".  I know, I have used them both. :-)

If you knew how much work it has been for Phil to keep hackers out of our system you would appreciate why we keep it this way. He has spent countless hours blocking access to hackers over the past few years.  So to keep Phil sane, we will keep the password settings as they are but if you really want a special password, then call the office and we will set up any reasonable password you would like.

Good news.  We have streamlined the steps to read the Current Issue and two back issues.  We added a Login button at the right end of the menu bar at the top.  So now you can simply go to our website and hit the Login button, then enter in your Username and Password and you will go directly to the page where the Current Issue is on.

Please try that and see if you like it.
