What happened to the guy that use to post here a lot with the gray schoolie?  I think it's been about 3 months since I've seen a post from him.

Yep. He left. Same way he left the skoolie forum. Kinda does this to himself sadly. I followed his threads a little over there over a year ago and it was rough.

Yep, good ol' Zephod. I think my last comment about him put him over the edge. He was enthusiastic, but he had some strange ideas. I think the moderator kicked him out for his abusive comments.  :(

Ahh that is him but I completely missed that convo posted.  The last convo I remember was talking about our different ideas of camping/fulltiming/using a bus.

He seems to be set on the minimalist kind of way and I want to use it for vacations and comfort.  But I did get a laugh at the thought of using a bucket for a toilet like him.  Well, I laughed at the thought of what my wife would say when I pointed at the bucket.

If you missed the Vietnam experience you missed having piss pipes set in the sand, and cut-down 55 Gal barrels to crap in. Our wives would not go for all of that fun, so Zephod's bucket is not too bad.  ;D

Having spent as much time in the woods as I have I used to find 5 gal buckets left behind after hunters vacated their campsites all the time. Some even had toilet seats attached to them. 55gal drums-yeah those were the days... :o I'd like to say I miss the old bus driver, but I'd be lying.  :)

Lol yea im not sorry i missed those days. I also never had the privilege of burning poop barrels.

I think the final straw for me was the feces in garbage bags that he merely dumped on the property occasionally burying them. At some point you just gotta realize that this forum has a different mindset than that. The skoolie group is really really relaxed. You have to reach a pretty high level of obnoxious behavior before they run you off.

Beyond the waste disposal methods, what really bothers me is the use of paint rollers to coat their schoolies. Spray painting is expensive alright, but rolling paint diminishes the image of bus conversions, in my opinion (roofs excepted?).

Stuff like this is why a lot of camp grounds won't let schoolies in their camp grounds It is like dog poop 'A few rotten apples causes problems for every one else!!

I personally don't care if someone rolls or brushes paint but at the same time, there's a line and you can't be mad if campgrounds don't let you in.

On the other hand, I can't stand when a campground will ask what year my bus is and over the phone say that it can't come.  (1974)  I usually lie or tell them the year it was converted but that was 98 so even now that is pushing it.

There's no excuse for the feces part I agree.  The only way I could see it is if I was in the woods by myself and honestly, you shouldn't be able to get a bus into woods that deep.

I don't know what his situation was but I don't understand b/c if you are at a campground even without hook ups, aren't there always a restroom nearby?  That part was confusing to me.
