Motor, surfaces and gasket clean-up

Wanted to share some thoughts on a product I been using for many years.
With this all of us have to manage time, this is my point with the product. It seems effecient in my past and present work and so I keep a box of the 2" diameter.  These bristle disc I use have a "Roloc" connection and does require this additional attachment.

I can say the mini, right angle air sander is a great asset for these task. Honestly its use is probably higher than any shop tool, lets just say they are handy. These can be both straight or right angle and I keep a straight for other task.

Never tried those Floyd but do have some on the way ,thanks has to be better than digging the wire from your skin using the wire brushes

Wire from your skin? You're doing it wrong. I think the Roloc replaces the velcro style. Although the Roloc I've seen are sanding discs. Maybe they come in Scotchbrite style also.

Chessie4905, they are the same roloc connector as sanding disc you mention. I have used them for over ten years maybe 15 probably? crs, and happy. That little right angle gets used with the sanding disc as well in welding, still the 2" on little splatter clean up in corners and edging. You know the routine, its there it works and its handy. Even though the 7 and 4" grinders are right there pluged in.  I am going to get a finer one for aluminum. Just because i remember sometimes in the past, being more careful with that metal cleanup.

Do these 3M products have any carbide or other nasty stuff in them?  I have heard of folks destroying engines by using Scotchbrite pads due to the carbide in them.

Thats a good question Brian, Im not sure on that but there man made. That leads us to some study.
There is the stiff putty knife that gets filed with attention, just for surface clean-up. This method is what I was taught to use. Along with a wire brush and a pan with kerosene.

I picked up two weeks ago another box of 8511 n95 mask. The saw dust is terrible, also use these for miscellaneous task. I wish ages ago that I put more attention toward that wear habit for these task.

I found out yesterday as I dug around the bottom tool box drawer there were no more straight razors in the empty package? Thats just great, does this cost for all these requirements ever stop while working.

I wonder if others know these requirements, i suppose.

I also use one of these for removing pesky gasket residue, and 100 pack of razor blades as they lose their edge.

I moved up to the big I use a air scraper for removing gaskets on a DD then finish it off with pads,the razor blades you buy now all break on me in 1 pass,the draw back to the air gizmo you have to sharpen the blades or it doesn't work very well on the tough DD gaskets

Have you tried one of these with scraper blade? I thought these were a stupid tool when they came out a few years back and very expensive.I bought one from HF a year ago. Wow! Those things are useful for all kinds of projects. Never regretted the purchase. They even have a cordless one now. I bought their better model. Came with spare brushes btw. Have used it a lot.

That is the best tool ever invented!
I started with the cheap HF one chessie posted here, and when it burned out, I bought a good one (Dremel brand).

They have about three qualities of these. I bought the best model. Has held up well so far.

I agree with J C best tool out there . working with wood all these years I could have used it long long ago .

the first time I saw one was in 2004 when my solid surface guy had one by freud tools and he paid over $ 400 for the same type of kit you can buy for $ 50 today

Another must have item. I use it a lot for various things. Great for heating old pipe sealant. Really makes removal of fitting easier. Good for quick work on shrink tubing. Also good for heating and softening old hard gaskets.
