Hello All. Just about out of town when a California unlicenced, uninsured soccor mom 39 years of age ran into my legally parked toad. Cops took her soccor van. Repair estimate at the body shop $3640. It's the little chunk of wood taken out of the rear pillar that is causing the most trouble. Now I get to argue with my insurance company. Don't you just hate it when that happens? Jack

She never got off of her cell phone until the cops insisted--is there a cell phone test???  Jack

WOW!  Sorry to hear this Jack.  But here is your opportunity to make some extra cash as obviously you can do the repair work yourself for a fraction of the cost.   I did some of my own body work and didn't necessarily do it any cheaper but it did pay for a nice compressor and some air tools which lasted me a long time.

Thanks Gary.  I plan to use a sharpie on the fender to "'Splain" what happened so people don't think I pulled in front of someone etc etc--oh well. no one cares anyway as long as I have Insurance.  Jack >:(

Jack that is the neatest looking toad not to mention what pulls it - sorry for your misfortune - get er fixed. By the way I am recovering from the trauma of being the at fault vehicle in a three vehicle crash. Not proud about it - we had air bag deployment - & our GMC Sierra Quadrasteer was totaled. Thankfully no one was injured. The bus is going to like it cause we down sized to a much smaller Jeep Grand Cherokee. Hope you recover from your upset soon.

For anyone who has not seen Jacks bus conversion that he tows this car with, check out the feature article of his Honeysuckle Rose in this February 2016 issue.  I think he said he completed this job over a couple of weekends.  https://www.busconversionmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/BCM-2016-02-Feb.pdf

Yeah, a couple of weekends.  I think he said:
"I talked to the owner of a local metal fabricating shop and learned how metal stamping dies work and how they are made.  Armed with this new knowledge I built my own dies and was allowed to use the shop's huge metal press to stamp out my own panels—too much fun!"

    You're scaring me here, Jack!
