MCI 102A3 stud sizes / dimensions (steel or aluminum)

Funny because my father in law actually makes these studs for meritor. He can look at the stamp on the end and know it came from his plant here in Michigan. Crazy but true. He'd do a run of them for us if we needed a larger order.

Crikey - are they so expensive because most they are an unusual size?  Aren't most truck studs something like $7-10?

Because even if I don't replace the drive studs (since they fit, though I would be happier if they were replaced) that's still close to $800 for just the studs, then at least 4 hours of mechanics work to pull the hubs.

Are the original studs for steel around the same price?  Because partly I want the aluminum wheels, but partly I just need to replace the studs on my bus.

more like 8 hours and that bars finding nothing else in side the drum.

if they don't have a press you're in the wrong place.

Yeah, seems like those wheel covers have enough bling for most and a whole lot easier and cheaper,

You don't need a press to remove those studs. There is a space between brake shoes at about 9 o'clock. You turn the hub so the stud you want to remove is there. Spin the nut off the back of the stud. Place a big oversize nut (spacer) over the shaft, replace and tighten the nut to pull the stud off from the back. A little help with a hammer on the front of the stud helps to get it started. That's how I do mine.

I use a 9in wide wheel and the 1 piece aluminum wheels just seem like a lot better wheel than a 2 piece welded steel wheel but they are a real PITA to keep looking good
