I'm switching out my MCI 102A3 to aluminum for all the outer wheels (keeping the steel on the inside drive) and I'm having a heck of a time finding replacements.

The shop says they need to pull the wheels to get a sample stud, but that leaves us off the road for a few days or more, depending.

I've got the MCI part numbers for the studs for steel wheels, but when I take them to a parts shop they can't lookup any of the specs (in order to figure out what studs I need for the aluminums), does anyone know where I can find these spec?  (Or, even better, the part numbers for the aluminum studs?)

I have:

Front: 15C-2-35, 15C-2-36
Drive:  15J-3-18, 15J-3-5
  Or?  15J-3-35, 15J-3-38
Tag:  15R-2-11, 15R-2-12

Are you talking about US Coach?  Because he's currently out of stock.

Call Mohawk. They have them and will know the sizes. They were the most reasonably priced last year when I was looking.

Whomever I talked to at Mohawk couldn't find the number and is calling back Monday.  The price they quoted was $21.25 for the steer, as opposed to $19.03 at US Coach.

I can't help but think that if I could find the dimensions on either the steel *or* the aluminum studs I could figure out what studs to order from a truck parts shop and save a heck of a lot of money.  Does anyone have some studs lying around?

And US Coach claims the steer and tag are the same stud, though the MCI Parts catalog gives them different part numbers, is that just MCI being ridiculous?

The steers and the tag are the same studs at least on my DL3 they were

If you peruse the pdf Euclid catalog in the wheel stud section, they list pictures of the studs and all dimensions. Maybe some interchange numbers also. BTW, all their studs are listed as grade 8.

What is Metior?  Is that something I can lookup at a parts supply store?  Or are you talking about Meritor as Dave5C posted?

Where is this pdf catalog (I didn't see a link in Dave5Cs post)?

I've seen a few PDF catalogs online showing plenty of studs, but how do I find the ones that fit an MCI102A3?

This just seems to be a page talking about Meritor as a company, I can't see anywhere to reference the studs or figure out which ones I have or need.

chessie4905

I use Euclid wheel and stud catalog. Google that and look for the pdf. I can't copy and paste a pdf address. Use the dimensions in the catalog to compare with what you have.

Not suggesting to buy from Euclid, but each stud/ nut has 2,3,4, industry part numbers. You can then go from there. After the fiasco several years ago with cheap imported wheel fastener failures, the Feds stepped in and required certification and a proper paper trail and mfg markings on each part. Thats why they are so expensive now. At least you will be getting quality parts now.
