Yes, Gary - I think that like me, you were badly spoiled by that MB radio.  Mine was a 75 300D with a Becker Mexico AM/FM/Short Wave radio that I miss greatly.  We live and learn.  But I no longer listen to AM for the reasons cited earlier - and I dislike talk radio shows - they piss me off too much and raise my blood pressure!.
