I was checking out Goodsonbussales.com last nite and they have several eagles for sale that are 40' that apparently have late model factory 4 stroke engines. Does this mean there are factory change over parts available. Has anyone seen any of these units? I've heard a lot of negatives about change over but the only thing stopping me was overall length. If they will fit without having to move the drive axel and the Eagle Factory did it, I think I can to.

I personally think the Cummins M11/ISM is the perfect bus engine (although I still think the Series 60 is longer lived).  The engine is not to much longer than an 8V, is lighter than an 8V, or about the same as a 6V, is MUCH lower than the Series 60 so it is easier to install and to work on, it is still being made, and can get up to 500hp and 1550lb/ft of torque in RV form (although the Series 60 at the same power setting has a much fatter torque curve so it would most likely pull a bit better), and just about any mechanic can work on them (as compared to the 2 strokers).  I have seen them in Eagles with the drive axle in the rear position-so must work.  Personally would use the World transmission-it is the shortest and get 6 speeds.  Good Luck, TomC

I have a 1991 Eagle 15 45' 102". I have a rebuilt 6v92 DDEC2. I also wonder about that. I would imagine the body stayed the same between 1991 and 1997. I wonder how they shoe-horned the S60 in there?
