Anybody familiar or had experience with Alde heating systems for RV's? They had them on display at Hershey RV show last week. Company is in Sweden and has been making heating units since 1966.

How is this different from the Webasto system? My Webasto heats the fluid and circulates it to heat the inside of the coach. In my bus the hot water is pumped through a heater core with a fan to push warm air through the coach, but many RVs use the Webasto combined with baseboard heaters just like the Alde system.

Im not familar with them so, did take a brief look. I noticed one photo did show electric elements and i guess heating the water or coolant in a boiler style. Im not sure how propane is being implemented. Again i took just a quick look at the site.

Alde is the newer version of the old Primus system,I had the Primus in our Eagle and loved it quite, no smoke and hardly no maintenance I replaced a pump 1 time in 10 years ,the boilers were propane the electric elements were used when you were on the pole if you so cared to

It's still hydronic heat with mulitple coolant lines, pumps, air heat exchangers, etc.
I'll stick with my 2-10gal electric water heaters and 40,000btu propane furnace. Good Luck, TomC

Quotewe only sell to manufacturers of motorhomes and towable RVs

This translates to you can only get it with a new unit, you have to have it serviced by a dealer and repairs will be problematic and expensive.
