Well it's been almost a year and a half since I put the Series 50 in my MCI9, I had no idea what HP it was set at but once I got 20 miles from home out of the hills it wasn't to bad for power. Overall I was pleased with it, I'm not sure exactly what I weigh now but when I was converting it I had to have it weighed (to change my license from a bus to a motorhome) and I wasn't near finished and it came in at 33000 lb so I'm guessing I'am pushing 38000 lb when full of water and fuel plus all our other stuff then most of the time I pull my 6000 Lb 3/4 ton truck with a golf cart in the bed. I have been wanting to get it turned up but never took the time until last week when I decided to take the ecm off and send it to Diesel Control Service in Pittsburgh, He helped me out on a little glitch I had a while ago and was also recommended to me by luvrbus. Well I got it back today and I was anxious to get it put on so I stuck it on tonight and took it for a short ride. Well let me tell you what a difference, I found out that is a DDEC IV and was set at 275 HP and 890 ftlb of torque, he set it at 375 HP and 1200 ftlb of torque. I took it on a short 5 mile trip witch has a 1 mile 7% hill that has a S turn at the bottom and you can't get a run for it, with the old setting I would be down to 20 MPH now I was at 35 MPH and the temp didn't go over 185 degree. and now it's like a sports car when I pulled out of our street instead of just gradually picking up speed. I have 2 more trips planned this year and can't wait to get it out on a longer trip, so all and all I'm very happy camper  ;D ;D ;D

I absolutely love love love reading this Jason. You've had your share of bus engine drama without a doubt. And you made the plunge and took the effort to swap in a 50 series (your second engine redo in that bus) and to hear how happy you are with it after the turn up makes me thrilled for you. Cool beans. Now go and enjoy your bus finally

Thanks Scott, We do enjoy it, but now I can relax a little and enjoy the drive, The biggest thing is not having to watch the temperature gauge as much. and the power is a bonus  ;D
