I don't know if a 7 has the same linkage as a 8. but mine has a bell crank at the back of the bus were the linkage comes out of the balk head. there is a grease line on the tag axel finder. you need a good flashlight to see the bell crank.
Is yours the 4 speed with the solenoid shift reverse? Should be the same.

Best repair for the manual 4 speed is taking it out and installing an Allison HT740. Just like driving a car. Good Luck, TomC

Yes, i drove the 8's and 9's for 100's of thousands of miles in my career with the auto, but i want to keep the stick in this one. Unless of course i can't get it shifting a little smoother, right now it's still pretty stiff going into 3 and 4.
