Pre-Post Evansville Greyhound Rally

The BusBoys Greyhound Sept rally is for 2 nights arriving late fri and leaving Sunday after parade. Anyone wanting to arrive early I have made arrangements for a secure place for parking for before and a Non Rally after. There is no elect--there is a dump station and sure we can fill water. On Sunday and Monday night we have a lakeside shelter house with fireplace and deck on lake.  No fee. Donations will be excepted for donuts etc with any left over going to park for their youth programs. Already we have enough coaches to make it a go.  I ask Gary before posting and he said OK and ask if there was any support he could provide. Those staying in hotels or other facilities are definitely welcome to participate.   Bob

Hey Bob thanks for the footwork you did to offer all us nuts on these forums an alternative or should we say extracurricular...activity surrounding that awesome upcoming rally... :-)

Late September is start of Autumn here.  We have about 30 interested. Is intended to be leisure set around fire --swap experiences--and  I will update once a month until Aug when I think more details will be forth coming.Jon and Scott are getting together on this. Gary BCM is sending mags and support. BW is on  board with support for this Activity. Busboys have the Greyhound stationed there. We are offering pre and post rally support.  A event is what the people  (you) make it! It might be some of ours only time to view such a variety of history at one time.  A time to put faces with people with whom we only know by screen name. Cross the invisible line between. Restored-- converted-- and factory converted coaches.        Bob

The BusBoys Evansville event is September 22 > 24.

The Star Valley Ranch event is September 7 > 12

That gives you 10 days to go 1500 miles, Dan.

Thanks RJ. Sometimes I have senior moments. Will prob be the only rally that I help with(pre &post). The Busboys have the main event. My intent is  to have time & place for pre and post BUSBOYS get together. Leave pre-non-rally go to Busboys event and return for post get together. If there is  not enough room downtown you can stay and commute 6.3 miles. No charge-donations only.    Would just be nice to visit old friends and make new ones.   Bob

Robert   I will do you better than I do BK. I will tell you I am planning on coming.

I sometimes hold a rally at BK's and forget to tell him about it.

By the way I just spent a great few days with a great bunch of people with that old rusty brand of buses.

Most of these sure were shiney I wonder some times if the rust might be just a old wife's tale.

Bob we will be there also at the event and the before and after Fake-Rally. put me and the misses down with Coach. We are going to Michigan first to see her sister and then down to the Rally even and back to the rally.

Thanks for reply Dave. It Helps with planning.  Looks like about 30 coaches so far for pre post rally.Will update as info becomes available. Have a update planned after Scott and Jon visit the site early June to plan parking and general logistics. WE will have a plan B C etc according how many show up. Its on because there are more than 2 =my goal.   The main attraction is BUSBOYS Greyhound get together.   Bob

looks like we can park 100 plus  without going to overflow area 100 yards away with another 100  there. Sign up form to come. All money will go to  children/ youth programs at Burdette Park. Come as earl as 20 sept to pre rally---- Go to greyhound rally friday pm then it is over sunday afternoon return to post rally. last day at park is wed pm.   More to come! We want a deposit to tell how many to prepare for and save a parking space for YOU ..Lets make it the greatest in years!! Have people from NW  to SW and guys coming from Can.  Thanks   Bob

Is it known yet whether it will be permissible to run generators at the pre or post rallies, or at the Busboys Greyhound event? I sent the Busboys an email asking about that, but I have not heard back yet. I don't have enough batteries to keep cool should it be hot in September.

generator yes.  I need to get form on here for registration.Need to get permission from Gary first.  Things have just come together actually yesterday.  Busboys have not spoken with us. We are pre and post only. Most are leaving pre and going to Busboys get together fri pm and returning sunday pm. We have area 20th thru 27th.  BCM IS providing handouts as soon as we give Gary numbers.  Photos of the event will be shared with BCM. Our only bus magazine...More to come. water and dump station on site.    We can get over 100-130 on fairly flat pavement and another 100 on grass areas. Bob
