Bruce,I don't about your part of the states but we have a national chain here Battery +Bulbs he will meet and beat anybody price unless it a 1 time sale from the others and they sell the Duracell batteries the last G31's I purchased from him were $81.00 ea about 6 months ago fwiw
I think that these stores are franchise stores and therefore .set their on prices. The one in ASheville has been high on every thing I have ever asked for a price on .We used to have a place in here called Battery Pro that was real good, but the guy that owned it sold out and the new owners are selling a Korean battery .These things just don't last .

Our store will deal what I like you are talking to owner here, he ordered me 2 -8D Calcium sealed 8-D cheaper that I could buy the fill type from the little green people or Napa parts stores. This guy here never charges you for a battery core up front but does ask that you bring the old one back says he doesn't like to deal with paper work.I am sure the stores vary from place to place though

Yes, no core charge, but bring the batteries back. My store also gave 10% off since I was buying 2.

When I switched from the 8-D bats in the bus to a couple of Group 31's the manager in the Napa store I went to where I got the 8-D's only wanted to refund me the core charge on the 31's which at the time was $10. each and the core charge I paid on the 8-D's was $35. each. He said the only way I would get my core back and applied to the new batteries is if I stayed with 8-D's. After pissing back and forth, we compromised in the middle. He couldn't get it through his head that I paid the $35. each in good faith when I bought them and should only be charged the $10. each for the 31's. He finally agreed to give me 2 - $20. credits for the 8-D's and charged me the 2- $10. cores for the 31's. That was 2 or 3 years back. The 31's are doing great so far and a lot lighter weight but I will never give that store anymore business of mine.

The 2-31 Interstates I just replaced were 10 years old. They are not on a charger like the 2-8D Lifelines are. I could throw the switch to activate the jumper solenoid and connect all batteries together. In the 10 years, (the Interstates are sealed) I did nothing, not even clean the terminals, to the batteries. Like they weren't even there. Hope I get the same service out of the Duracells. Good Luck, TomC
