Hello: From time to time over the years, I have heard of people selling housings that they bought/didn't need, but not sure if anybody has ever found a company that makes PODs for TV cameras. Anyway, I'm looking for a rear camera housing, if anyone has a tip/lead as to where to purchase one, new or used, please let me know thanks. Gerry H

Wow - guess there's a need for a source. I called, left a message, haven't received a call back. Someone should start making these out of fiberglass. Thanks Cliff for the tip, but still looking. Gerry H

Try making it out of sheet metal or aluminum. Might be doable.

Of course it's doable. What some folks need is not to have to "do" everything. There's never a shortage of projects.

Gerry it may be a longshot but take a look at some government type sales, pertaining to traffic / red light cameras.
There is bound to be a pile several places, you could be a new houser of such  ;D

good day there

Yes Cliff, I look at those every time I am shopping at Menards, and if I had a small camera that would probably do the trick and slick, BUT I have a larger Sony camera that looks like the old black 8 ball kids toy. It would take a good 6" surround for it to work. So I would prefer a fiberglass hood type. Maybe I'll take up a new hobby after my bus conversion is done. Dave I know you meant well, if you make a really nice one, maybe I'll buy it from you! Can you make it out of #304 stainless?  ;D  Floyd, that's an idea, Thanks Gerry H

You might find an automotive door mirror housing you could use.
If you have to have a clear filter that could be a problem though, but its an option and many have a sealed wire path.
Heck with some you could take the glass off its mount and replace with the camera and have a motion cam

Might be a good time to upgrade. The current cameras are much smaller with clearer, sharper, color images and night vision. I purchased a system from Rear View Safety for my pickup truck. Has 3 camera inputs. I bought a small license plate camera add on off eBay, that I use for connecting to my trailers that works perfect every time. My coach currently has an old Sony system with a fairly small camera and a 9x9 monitor b&w with nightvision that I will upgrade to the one I use in the truck. Read extensive review on Amazon before purchasing system.
