Affordable Setra Mufflers?

Hey guys. The exhaust in my Setra is, how should I say this... non standard. The previous owner couldn't afford the loan payments, let alone a new muffler. It looks like I have a PowerStroke or DuraMax muffler in there now with a few plumbing pipe straps holding it up (well, they used to be).

A new muffler from MCI is $1,400 and then I still have to pay to get it mounted, which is probably going to include some replacement brackets since a few of those are gone too. I also need the tail pipes. What I have now is effectively a straight pipe on a Series 60 and it's far too loud for sneaking in anywhere late at night, but I can't bring myself to spend $2.5k+ on the OEM exhaust.

Do any of you have leads on where I can purchase a more affordable aftermarket muffler? Here's the shape I'm looking for, if that matters. 4" inlet, about 12" tall, 19-20" wide, and 38-42" long.

I was able to get a custom muffler for my Model 20 Eagle for around $350.00.  I was able to take my old muffler to a parts place for truck parts. (Hunnings, Bayboro, NC)   She (Laynette) got out her book and tape measure and a month later I had a muffler with the right size inlet and outlet in the right places.  Give her a call for the name of the company that makes the muffler.  252@638@5356

Anyone out there with Setras (Paul? BK?) willing to take a few measurements for me on an OEM muffler? I have the oval mounting brackets so height/width of the oval, but overall length and inlet/outlet locations would be slightly better than educated guesses. Hate to have something custom made that won't quite fit.

Series 60-you want 5" piping. Look at Donaldson mufflers. I got an oval (about 25" long) with the inlet and outlet on the same side for under $200. Good Luck, TomC

I could be wrong. I didn't look at it all that closely, but I think after part #132 in the diagram I posted it's all 4" pipe. #132 is a 5->4 reducer.
