Hi,
I have a 1988 MCI 102 A2.  The current door open/close lock system tied to the air system seems to slaming the door more than it should.  I have heard that disconnecting the air from the door and installing a paddle dead bolt latch system is very effective.
Would appreciate feedback on this and what systems would be best for our coach.  also any suggestions for an installer in PA - center part of the state.
Thanks for your help

There is a method to purge the cylinder that opens and closes the door. I did it once or twice on a D3. Look it up in the maintenance manual. It is not very hard to do. It will restore the operation to nice and smooth.

By disconnecting it and just using a deadbolt would you be inviting in some "whistling down the highway"?

Just using a dead bolt I don't think you can get the door seal real tight against the frame. I left my dash mounted manual door openier and the air door lock in and working. When I camp I have a small air compressor that provides air to the air door lock to operate it. I would like a paddle type door latch assembly but cutting the stainless and installing it is not worth the trouble.
