Hi All,

My Big Buck color camera bit the big one...  The picture is all messed up and I lost the night vision.

I have been looking at some replacement cameras but, there seems to be a lot of junk out there.

I found this one and I would like to know if any of our members have a similar one and does it work?

This is an awesome Camera! I have never been a tremendous fan of "Night Vision" – until now! This camera has the most intense Infra Red (night vision) I've ever seen on a backup camera. The manufacturer claims this camera's IR has a zero-lux effective range of 10 meters (~30 feet), but it seems to be even better than that. By comparison, other IR Night Vision cameras typically have an effective range of three to five meters (~9-15 feet).



But.... Not only does this camera have superior low-light imaging, it also has bright-light features that are normally found on only the most expensive surveillance cameras –

·        Automatic Backlight Compensation

·        Auto White Balance

·        Electronic Shuttering



The result of all of this: A camera that will handle low light, bright light, and situations where both conditions are present simultaneously – such as when your viewing area is partly in the shade and partly in bright sunshine. Few cameras can handle such conditions, but this camera's Panasonic CCD image sensor excels in such conditions.



The camera provides a reversed (mirrored image) and it is waterproof – to IP66 standards.



Everything necessary for a typical motorhome installation is included:

I bought mine from them a couple of years ago. It works very nice. Even has a microphone so you can hear directions etc. from the rear. Black and white, but who needs color anyway. You can add an additional camera also.  It came with a broken monitor due to shipping, he replaced it with no hassels at all. Great to deal with.

Yep.  Me too.  I bought the same cam from RVcams (about XXX$165.XX)  two weeks before Arcadia.   Works great.  Much better than the old, different brand cam that I had.   
The 65' cable more than sufficed in my 40' coach.  Had to "lose" about 6'.
The cam's 4 pin cable was a direct fit to my color LCD (also from RVcams) monitor...the camera is powered by the monitor and required no additional wiring.  The cam has about a 2' pigtail terminated in a 4 pin plug.  If your old camera has a similar plug in the rear cap, you won't have to rewire the sucker.  I had to rewire for the new cam....not fun.   There was no plug in the rear cap for the old cam....just a long wire to the dash.

Hi JR,

My old cam has 2 RCA's and a 1/8th power plug at the rear cap. I hope I don't have to rewire...

The camra will be powered by my Pioneer navigation avicn2 the system either allows the backup to dominate

the screen or it will split the backup and navigation on the same screen. I love this feature, I hope it will still work this way.

Hi Nick.  If you discribed your existing BU Cam connections in the rear cap, he can adapt the new cam to fit.  You have sorta what I had.  Power, ground and video...but the damn video cable was one peice to the front.  Made into the cam.   The new camera will have a couple feet that terminate in 4 pin that can be adapted to split up the feeds and inputs.  Whatever functions you had before, you can have by utilzing adaptors. 
I sealed up the new connector with Liquid Lectric Tape...prevents the thing from coming undone.  And keeps moisture out of the connector.  That's the kiss of death to video feeds. 
I think you'll enjoy the camera.  Very pleased wiith mine. 
I ordered the new camera and he called the next day to verify what I was attaching the camera to so that he could send the correct adaptors.  As it was, all I needed was the standard cabling.   Worked with no hassle. 
I would think your monitor would work as it did...just different input device....in the same slot. 
My old camera worked fine in areas that were shade free...couldn't see in shady areas.   First time I backed the bus up to the house to load up, T decided to check the "claims" of a much improved picture....T mooned me...in the shade of a tree!     This proved that the new cam worked  flawlessly!  The old cam wouldn't have seen her.    We were chatting bluetooth to bluetooth so I was able to confer my satisfaction with my new camera....and T's ......ummmmm  nevermind.     
Get your wife to help you check the backup cam!  Let us know how that goes!!   JR

Nick, I think T's practicing for Burningman....not sure but we keep talking about it.   
Get your dig cam hooked up to the BU cam before talking Michelle into testing the backup cam...if she does it, you'll want to save the art!        This will be good!  I'm quite satisfied that this is the best way to check a rearview cam.   All one needs is volunteers!

Nick, thanks for posting this, and everyone, thanks for the answers.  I want to put a camera on the 4107, and this looks like it'll fit the bill.  When I looked at the website, they had two full setups - dependent on the size of the monitor (5.6 or 6.8 inch screen).  Which size is more appropriate?

Any way of using a computer monitor to view the backup cam picture?  I guess it would need something to plug the camera into to interface the two, is there something like that on the market?

Hi Jim,

I have my camra patched into my navigation system which is built into my dash board. The screen splits the 2 inputs. Kinda cool.

And the Nav system can send the camra or the nav screen to other tv's in my coach [my kids like to see all the geographics while traveling]

I don't see why you couldn't tap a computor screen....
