Sorry, to clarify, oil pressure was high, air pressure was fine

Oil Pressure should be 40 to 50 when moving on hyway. Check the oil dip stick on a paper towel to see if any coolant in it. Probably not but won't hurt.
Does sound like gauges are off. Brake thing also sounds like they need grease at your DD3 's when you get home. 1 good pull and work your adjusters back and forth. your "S" cams need grease or out of adjustment and they are worn.
Watch any smoke coming out of the tail pipe going down the road, a lot, a little, white, grey, blue or just black. If it is Black back off a little, your giving it to much fuel.
Just some observations from what you have said. Safe trip to you Lou.

Well, there are many  gauges on the dash most of which are inoperable but I thought all of them were. But one of them I believe is oiland  working but it's not indicated oil pressure but it's at about 40 or 45 depending on grade. I haven't seen any smoke in any situation grade or otherwise. Nearly 1,100 miles and I've only gone through 3 quarts. And I did put her hard up the grades on 81 thru VA and  on 84 which is where I'm at now in Milford Pennsylvania.
Yes greasing the DD3'S it was mentioned by the road mechanic and when I call John at Eagle classic coach where some work  was done he  said the same.
I will have rear brakes checked ASAP can I return 2 New Hampshire.
So am I wrong to think that front and rear gauges and laser temp gun are all within 10 degrees 155-170 is ok? And no smoke and new found presumed oil gauge along with burning 3 quarts so far is good?
I do know my compressor and brakes are working!!  I had  to use them a couple of times traffic !!!!  Scared me a bit!! But she stopped on a dime:-)

If the temperature gauges and the laser gun agree, then maybe the previous owner took the thermostat out to provide more cooling in hot weather. If it is running at 155-170 it is not at optimum temperature for best fuel economy and power. You must be getting comfortable with your coach by now and the shifting is second nature, right?

Walter, never thought about the thermostat! Guess I'll check that out when I get home to :-) along with all the other little kinks that I have realized throughout the trip. I did a rough calculation yesterday on mileage so far and was running about 6.75 miles per gallon but I will have a much better idea when I finally make it home and fill it up. And yes the downshifting has gotten much better I know the sweet spots now although along with the clutch needing to be adjusted I believe? As she doesn't engage until she's  2/3 at the top , Plus My technique needing honed  a little more , I still grind a little bit but a far cry from my first several hundred miles! I feel comfortable behind the wheel now! At 75 or 15 miles an hour.

Glad 2 c u r almost back !! Good luck rest of way . I remember bringin mine back that route ... It was a blast .

Well, you really have survived your baptism of fire. 6.75 mpg might be a little low, but then you were not always going 55-60. I used to live in Northern New Hampshire (Littleton), we used to envy the folks in balmy southern NH.

I moved from there in 1986 after I sold my trucking business, but I have been back several times. I miss it a lot, the spring peepers should be starting up, and the frost heaves should be settling down by now. I have been to Rogers, but my favorite is the Lake Umbagog State Park past Errol. Lots of fish and bald eagles.

Well I just got back this afternoon at 3 p.m. safe and sound! My total miles traveled is 1589 and total gallons used were ,213.294.  averages out at about 7.5  miles per gallon. Less than I hoped for but more than I heard of but I did ride her at 75 miles per hour 2/3 or more of the way. I discovered a lot about her ways and things that need to be addressed. 1 high on the list at the moment is a leak  I believe in the right rear air bags? As two mornings I woke to her listing hard on that side and would not start because of low oil sensor and had to have coach-net air me up twice. Two different locations same issue. So the brakes and the air up are the only two issues I had over the trip So I feel quite fortunate and blessed!
Other issues are the brake, slack adjusters/S cam greaseing, non-functioning gauges, steering fill thingamabob is leaking I think it's just fittings .Leak on drivers side wind shield rubber, dry rot I'm sure. No lights on dash, some running lights and low beam headlight out, genset is only putting out 10.5 or so amps and not switching on for house. Genset Diesel engine works great but electric  part is questionable.  Coach door needs new rubbers/seals windy and loud. Clutch needs adjusting. To mention only a few. And I haven't even looked or know how the plumbing works yet I will figure that out in due time.
So that's all for now! I'm sure I'll have more things I find as time goes.
Thanks for all the encouragement  and ideas ya'll !!!

Too much fun!  Glad all went well--looks like you picked a winner!

Where are all the pics?  As you know, no pics, it didn't happen :D :D  Jack

Sounds like a normal 50 year old bus! Keep a to-fix list, it is easy to forget the small details that you become aware of on a long trip. Don't forget to take a picture of that warning plaque about the brake release.

Walter, yes I agree I did take notes and sent myself text via my Bluetooth that I brought with me and wrote A Few down on paper when I stop. Most of which I posted above in my last posting. And that warning plaque on the brakes I know I took a picture and it was attached on the posting reply to Craig but I don't see it anywhere in the thread or on my phone?? And I just tried posting a picture one single picture and recall in the past the files are too large and the Forum will not accept them. I'm guessing Forum does not have the capability to automatically resize them if they're too large? So Jack , you'll just have to take my word on it until I can get some pictures posted :-) not that I have many but I do have some.
