Hundred and twenty pounds when I release the ICC break but sitting on the side of the road right now I just aired up again and release the ICC heard what seems to be a small continuous hiss of air. Coming from the ICC button slash/ valve below the steering wheel???

DoubleEagle

The valve or an air line could be your problem. Try tightening any connections that you have access to. There might be a crack in an airline. If you can partially release the brakes at least and need to get to a better spot, just go slower until the brakes get hot, then let it cool down, and then go again. It is dangerous to be on the side of a busy road, especially after dark. Depending on where you are, some busy body policeman might order that you be towed if he thinks you are a hazard.

The MCI 5 has DD-3 chambers leaking air at the parking brake valve is usually a blown diagram in one of the DD-3 chambers

If you find the one that is leaking you can clamp the supply line or cap it with a plug after pulling it loose from the can and get it to air up and get it to a safe place to fix it.

Okay, five hours waiting from phone call to service truck arrival. Mechanic crawls underneath after he talks Wheels looks around instructs me to chalk the wheels so I do. Then he says go in the bus release the ICC and jam on the brakes twice as hard as you can now he said remove the shocks and see if you can move forward. I did and the problem was fixed so. It's happened to more times today and I just hit the break once or twice and was able to move down the road. Said something about the break shoe wear being close to 50 or 75% and the S cam rolling over at some. Butt I am in Walterboro South Carolina to the night visiting a childhood friend I haven't seen for 40 years. It was so great to catch up and  his family

Crazy tale.  Glad you got going again.  When you get a chance, let us dummies know exactly what happened.

DoubleEagle

Thanks for letting us know what happened, I was getting worried that some sleepy truck driver had plowed into you while you were sitting there waiting for road service. You were lucky that the mechanic sized up the situation quickly. It is hard to help someone by computer. The hissing at the ICC valve is gone?

You are aware that to release the paring brakes you need to push in the button and then do a full application of the foot pedal, right?  Just pushing in the button may
not release the locks in the DD3 chambers.

Gumpy, I am acutely aware of that now! That is pretty much what the road mechanic had me do. I did not realize until just moments ago I look down as I'm driving at this》》》》 I hope the attachment comes out. I just went through Fayetteville North Carolina in the rain wipers are working great this little Jewel hums at 75 miles an hour water temp has never exceeded 155 oil pressure is 90 + and air is between100 and  110  while in operation.
And I have been slowly but surely downshifting when needed! Feeling confident now but the first day or two I was white-knuckling for sure! On the road again. Hoping to make it to Virginia by Nightfall

I'd be wary of those gauge readouts, they don't seem to fall in parameters for temp and pressure. FWIW

Niles, was a bit curious on the gauges as well , I do know  the temperature reading in the rear is the same as the front. So I'm guessing that's redundant and confirmation? Oil pressure I know is questionable though so far approximately 800 miles and I have burned through about a half a gallon of oil. Air pressure , have had no issues with brakes braking or any of the operations ,windshield wipers ran most of the day. And still kept at between 90 and 110.

DoubleEagle

The water temp gauge must be off. When you are climbing grades it never gets above 155? Not natural.

Not sure what to say to that! Not sure what type of grade  would make the temperature go up  but I stuck to  95  North  out of Savannah Georgia . I'll be getting on  81  off of 66  from Fredericksburg tomorrow .  I'm sure I will have some  better grades there as I'm used to going that way  up 81 - 84 - 90  in a car. I will keep a closer eye on the temperature gauge. Still a newbie:-) or maybe I'm reading the water gauge wrong? Heck I didn't even notice the ICC brake procedure that was  on a red plaque right in front of me the whole time I'm driving.

Should be running between 170 and 180 degrees. Does the radiator have shutters? Make sure to check coolant level in morning after it cools off.
