The paint on my "new" 1967 Eagle is beginning to look a bit rough and I am looking for ideas for a new paint scheme.  I am not sure if I should keep the same paint scheme, or design a new paint scheme.  Some folks seem to like the current paint scheme and others say it is 20 years out of date.

I am posting this to get ideas.  To see the current paint scheme, be sure to log in to this Forum to see the photo below.

If you like the current paint scheme and think it should be duplicated as is, please let us know.
If you like the current paint scheme but think it needs new colors, please let us know and suggest the new colors.
If you think it is time for a completely new paint scheme, please let us know.

Please upload any photos, images, renderings or ideas you may have.  The current maximum attachment size allowed on this Forum is 196 KB, so ensure your file is smaller than that before attaching it.

If you cannot upload the photo, image or ideas, either reduce the size or email them to me at Gary@BusConversions.com.

Thank all of you for helping make this decision.  The winners will be recognized on this Forum, even the ones that say I should just reproduce the current paint scheme.

With retro being all the rage these days, how about painting it avocado green with medium olive trim--you know, like my 70's frig :D

Just kidding, but a color change if nothing more is in order.  Jack

How about School Bus Yellow Jack?  Is that what you are suggesting? :-)]

Can you have Lorna paint me up some proposals with Lake Mead in the background and bring them to the SoCal Mini Rally?

Ha,Ha Gary.  The SBY would be no problem, I've got a couple of 55 gal drums of that :D.

Getting Lorna to paint Lake Mead samplers might be a hard sell--you could always ask.  Jack

I'll bet that getting paint off below the belt will be a problem. I think I would keep the pattern and use updated colors. That would be a lot easier and cheaper. There seems to be a lot of air brush work on the ribbon though.

Thanks for the ideas.  I was thinking about brighter colors not dark colors like the color that Scott suggested, but it is not out of the question.  Darker colors sometimes look richer.

I really like the new Greyhound blue that I have seen.

As for removing the paint below the belt, my painter said that is no problem.

The original paint job back then I think the previous owner told me was $30k, so airbrushing the ribbon would require some extra work but it is well liked, I can handle that as my painter is working a great deal with me.

Keep those ideas coming.  I really appreciate it.

Maybe spruce it up with a celebrity photo?  (attached).   ;D

Colors + a mural?  Maybe of a California desert?  Palm trees?  Or do folks still do the murals - always wanted a mural scene.  Darker/richer colors with white roof.  Polished aluminum.

Maybe a reference to BCM on the back?

Just my thoughts & hope this helps, Phil

I have seen some all white Eagles that looked very good. Or just off white.

I wouldn't put any references to BCM on it unless you want trouble at weigh stations since a name of any sort indicates a commercial vehicle

Wasn't planning on it for that very reason.  It is a private coach.   My license plates say BCM-1.  It stands for "Bus Conversion Motorhome 1".  ;D

I do like the Almond white JC like is on one of the Eagles at Quartzsite each year, but not sure who owns it.  But I think it also should have SOME graphics on it as I have a raised roof and that sure is a lot of white. But white looks clean to me and relatively easy to hide the dust we get here in SoCal.  So that is a possibility and worth putting into the quiver.
