Why is it so heavy?  Just under 25 tons, that is close to 50,000 pounds.  Is it street legal?  Just curious.  Respectfully.

Must be.  Bluebird made some much heaver buses than that from what I understand and Johnny Cash never told me he had any problems getting around in his Bird.  

The only concern I may have is crossing the many bridges in New England that I am familiar with, especially the covered bridges built to keep from spooking the horses, some with a maximum weight capacity of 6 tons.  

But then if the cops aren't looking just go like hell and you should be okay as the weight of the bus will span over the entire span of the bridge.

I think someone once told me that the faster you drive the lighter your bus.  Theoretically this should also relate to burning less fuel.   ;D
