You'll never get the power out of electric that you do with a direct drive radiator fan. The only reason transits are now using electric fans (12) is that transits stop and go with a long enough stop to cool the radiator down again. On a long grade during summer, the electric fan will cause over heat. Don't you think that if electric were that good that over the road buses and trucks would use them too? Save yourself ALOT of grief and stick to the engine driven fan. Good Luck, TomC

Timothy -

I have a stock 8V71 radiator fan out of a 4106 available.  It's all packaged up and ready to ship.  PM me if you're interested.

I am looking for a more efficient fan not an electric one, fan technology has improved since 1971, had a manufacture's website on my other laptop that died, lost all my bus info.

Horton will have what you are looking for ,expect to pay 5 to $600 for a 32in -13 blade variable pitch plastic fan that was the price 3 years ago.According to Horton it uses 12% of the engine rated HP for the fan I purchased  fwiw

I have a direct drive gear driven fan. Hence on my left handed V-drive engine, the fan is a normal right handed. I believe the fan is also a 32" 8 blade solid aluminum affair. I know at idle, it is strong enough to hold a rag on the radiator. The big thing, is to make sure all is sealed so no hot air from the engine can recirculate through the radiator. Good Luck, TomC
