I'm seeing old buses popping up on Craigslist for way way too much money. Like a daily occurrence. Is it a bus sellers disease? Even in our bus classifieds there's an old MCI just put up for nearly $46,000... Am I missing something? Look at this damaged coach I just found on Craigslist for $7500. Really?

I can only guess that some people are working on the principle of if you don't ask, you don't get.  And if somebody thinks it's smart to start with stupid prices, then they'll think that starting high gets them the best final price after the haggling.  I've always worked on the idea that if you price something too high, you just run away buyers, but I've never been a salesman.

I am just seeing it so much now I needed a sanity check. Is it me? Or are bus prices actually recovering? Or is it just people pricing way out there?

Asking price gets advertised, the selling price does not.

It benefits the herd to keep advertising high, in the hopes the inertia will kick in?

Remember, every bus ends up for sale, whether it is one of us, or our heirs, putting it up....!

Roll on, market, roll on?

happy coaching!

There is still some deals out there especially when your not looking.
I bought this  1996 MCI 102 D3 for $1200.00 Canadian that's $ 800.00 US with todays dollar conversion.
It was sold at auction by bus company lots of small parts removed but apparently is running and drives.
3 days after bringing it home it still held air. :)

They re indeed in la la land.. I see old transits that were purchased for 1k to 2k then they turn around and try and demand 35k for one (they even used the auction pictures on the ad).. If i see something over marked, i wont even bother hitting up the seller..

Wether it is a bus, truck, car, or home you can asking anything you want but when the reality of a no sale kicks in then you change your tune. Did you see what people were paying for cars at the Barrett/Jackson car auction last week. I couldn't believe some of the prices.

That one will look so out of place beside your other ones, Paul.

Tell you what.  As a personal favour to you, I will give you what you paid for it, then take it to my house. I think it would be happier parked next to it's older brother.    ;D
