Whats the going price on a dbw2010?  Rebuilt about 200 hrs ago.  New motor, pump, so on....

Ahhh..so I'd be better to part it out. 

I've not seen any that price, that are in good shape.

I was kinda looking for a national average price.  They go for at least twice that here in cold country. 

Boy, if you see any at that price mention it here!

Unless you are able to demonstrate it for the potential buyer, it's worth $500. Pig in a poke.

Too much liability $$$$ in buying it blind.

Of course.  Like buying a bus that you dont get a chance to start.

I'd still buy them all day long for $500 given the chance.

Keep you your eyes on the Government Liquidators Auction site they pop up there sold in pallet lots.I have a real Army issue Humvee that has one with 2 exchangers 24volt

I would think that would surely be a crap shoot.  Might be good for parts though.

I have a new Scholastic with all the goodies, as well as a DBW2010 that Roger Berke rebuilt completely 200 hrs and I have paperwork as proof.  I have eyes on a 2010 and a 2020 that I'll be snatching soon as well.

Starting to build a few test boxes as well.

what r they coming out of..school buses?? r they common in school buses???  id like to have a couple

2 came out of school buses, 2 came out of Eagles.  They're all the same give or take 12/24v

Almost everything with a sizable passenger compartment comes with a coolant heater, for the dual purpose of engine pre-heat, and aux heat booster to the interior. The dawn of the efficient 4 strokes had an unintended side effect, they make less waste heat, and the interior suffers low temps/ engine runs cool in winter temps.

These coaches and buses are hitting the scrap yards now.

As noted earlier, don't overpay unless you can watch and listen to it run. Otherwise count on replacing the bearings/motor, a control box and the safety devices. Watch the voltage, they come 12 and 24.

That is the truth I have a friend that runs H3-45 Prevost seated coaches those have a huge heating system the chassis is 108,000 btu with 100,000 btu auxiliary system he says all the glass makes one hard to heat in below freezing temps and he use both systems 75% of the time he told me

And that's why I can get good money when I sell one. All that's been tested and/or replaced.  Well, not the control box. They either work or not. Can't say I've seen one bad.
