1991 Prevost 8V92TA power steering leak

Pump below air compressor leaking at weep hole. Has roll pln and plug under. They tell me to pull roll pln and replace o ring on plug. Leaked all over floor and reservoir empty. That sound like a plan? Is plug hard to remove?

That takes a special o-ring most of the time the standard o-ring will blow over time

Where would a guy find one of these? Napa? Called Stewart Stevenson San Antone and they said prevost part.

Got er done boys. Couldn't find an o ring at auto parts store but had some from many moons ago for hydraulic goodies. Don't know how long it will last. These are 20 years old. If your 6'2" and 235 find somebody tiny and you won't have to remove batteries.

When we bought our 1991 Prevost it was pouring fluid out the same hole. I was told by a fellow Prevost owner to change the O ring to fix the problem. I looked at a manual online for the pump just to understand what was happening before tackling the project so when I removed the spring assembly I thought something looked odd. According to the manual, this spring was installed backwards, apparently someone fixing a leak before had reinstalled wrong. I put a new O ring installed correctly and no more leaks after 4 years.

Hey Tom when I pulled the pin out everything went flying. Took me awhile to find pressure plug and cap under bus. Spring stayed in Vickers pump body. Will at least I fixed that problem as I had it out on a 500 mile trip the last couple days.
