on the prevost clearance lights where the screws go thru there is a anchor for them. About 3/8 od and is made of rubber with a threaded insert.  Looks like you push them in 3/8 hole then run screw in and they expand in hole.   What do you call them?? I need a couple to put thru new panels.    Bob

Riv nuts, Byler Rivet Supply has them in many sizes. Some better auto supply stores may carry them to.

If rubber, they're often called well nuts in the hardware trade. Quite common

Yeah, that's what I've always heard them called. "Riv-nuts" are all metal, with a thread down the middle of the rivet.  You screw a tool into the threads and use that tool to pull the rivet up into crush which secures it and fastens the pieces of metal together (sorta like a pop rivet but the mechanics are different).  Then, you're left with a solid thread that you can use to attach a bracket, etc. to.

Yep!! Bought mine at Lowes also and while you have those clearance lights off,go by the auto parts store and get some good gasket material .Hopefully you can get one of the old gaskets off to use for a template.I'll promise you that if the well nuts have deteriorated so have your gaskets.and they will darn sure leak!!!!!

new led clearance lights came with gaskets.  I sure felt dumb asking what they were called. All is bright in lights now. Also hope to never have to replace a bulb again. All lights are now led front to back.

After I had repainted my roof and replaced all the clearance lights, I ran a bead of caulk around each light's housing.   So, with the lights' gaskets and the caulk they should now be watertight.   I just don't trust the thin gaskets that came with each light, especially as some of them are on a curved part of the roof.

Robert:Where did you find the led clearance lights and how expensive were they? On my rv's ,every time you look there is a clearance light or marker light out.Not so bad on the Prevost but on my Fleetwood Dream, you can see one that is not working,go up and fix it and by the time you get off the ladder and check to make sure it is working another one has quit working!!!lol

Steve used 12 volt. You need to ck voltage at circuit because I think some functions were 24V (maybe brake lights) What I did there was use a cube relay with 24 for switching and 12 for power to fixture. Did that inside rear  electrical box.  Fleet products was supplier /cost under 9$ each.
