I would guess taking your time and doing a good job that will truly last is a work of love. And it's costly if you want top grade materials ;)

We are going on 3 years with our refit of the interior and then I will do the paint and graphics and am planning on being finished before next summer.....of course, I have been told that it's never finished....LOL

BCO, it's fun, it's information, and helps us all appreciate why we wanted a bus in the first place! :-)
And sometimes when we have been working in our buses and see a finished nice looking sticks and staples it helps remind us why we won't give up and just go get one that's finished 8)
