Eagle model 20, Series 60, DDEC III

Will start and idle at 600 rpm, will go into gear, will release parking brake, can move bus @ idle

Will not accept accelleration at pedal, working OK when parked last night

Happened before approx one month ago.  Fiddled with switches.  Started to work again.  Don't know what happened to solve the issue, lost road cruise control since that problem

Fiddled with switches this time with no luck.

Can fast idle with cruise control (cc), bus panel fast idle switch on turns off cc fast idle, fast idle panel switch will not increase rpm, fast idle panel switch on overrides any cc function

Have tried all combinations using cc, jakes, and fast idle (both cc and panel), am about to check voltage at potentlometer.  Have no reason to suspect it bad, but will post right back if it is

Am in Glenallen, Alaska, population 500 .  No local help.  2:00 pm local time.  6:00 pm eastern.  My number 931 247 30 six zero if you can help.  Thanks.

Or you flashing any codes Gary, clean the TPS real good all connections and the rollers then use Wayne's hair drier and dry it good,Be sure to check the rubber hose on the turbo sensor and fuel filters

I haven't had a "dead pedal" issue in the shop for a while now. APP sensor would be the first place to look. Check for any debris build up or any binding or sticking. I believe the sensor runs between .5 - 4.5V. The ECM may ignore it if it's out of this range.

It seems strange if the check engine light is not solid or flashing.  I had a TPS problem with my S60 DDEC III once that lit up the check engine light.  My problem was simply that I had an electric heater on the floor that was getting the TPS too warm.  All was well once I moved the heater.

Thanks for the reply Clifford.

The roller could use a little shining up but, it and the spring work the potentiometer the way it should.  The bus starts and runs strong.  The cruise control will take the rpm to 1,ooo and higher (and hold it there) so, I feel confident the fuel filters are in acceptable condition.

About the rubber hose, enlighten me further, please.  Thanks.

I just talked to Gary for a while.  His check engine light does not work.  He does have the Silverleaf software and I was able to guide him through getting the codes from there.  He has been getting SAE code 91 4 which is flash code 22.  This is Throttle Position Sensor voltage low.  His pedal assembly does not have a plug at the TPS like mine does.  He has a long cable going off from the pedal assembly and he can't find the other end of where it might plug in.  I recommended he find out where it goes and make sure it is not loose there or something.

He got off the phone because a local mechanic had just showed up.  Could a code for low voltage from the TPS mean there is an open on the wiring somewhere?

Code 22 flashes when the throttle count goes below 48 he should be reading 102-205 at idle over 968 it will flash code 21 He needs to measure the voltage at A3 and C3 both are grounds if higher than 0.2 he has a short on line 952 or 916 Maybe his guy has a Pro/Link

I talked to Gary briefly on the phone a little bit ago and he seems to have traced the problem to not getting 5 volts from the DDEC to the TPS.  He is still working on it.

If its made by Williams (the pedal) there's a way to reset it..

ignition on (no start)

pedal on (fully) for 5 times, then off.. that will reset the TPS sensor
