Ed,
When converting the MC-5 from the Spicer to the AT644 they may have gotten scared by the close tolerance between the axle and the driveshaft and put in a smaller size driveshaft. When I did mine, I stayed with the 1710 OEM size but had to shim the engine up to get it to clear the axle. Whoevery converted yours may have decided to put a smaller size drive shaft in?

Hmmmm,......don't know the answer to that Fred. The # for the yoke is 72NYS28141A if that tells you anything.
