My V730 Modulator appears to be leaking trans fluid. I can see no way to tighten it?

The manual shows a sheet metal bracket that holds it in place, mine does not have this and there is no way it could drop off? The only wrench flats seem to be for attaching the air line fitting.

All I can see to stop leaking is one inside O ring. Can I just pull the mod out and replace the ring?

Is the Mod adjustable? If so, how?

I've replaced modulators on GM TH-400 & 350 ATs but they screwed in. This one has me baffled!

It is a R-N-D-2-1 V730 conversion on a 4107 with an electric/air Stone-Bennett toggle switch shifter.

Any help will be appreciated.

I never saw one that wasn't held in place without the keeper yoke and 1 bolt yours being a air modulator the only way to adjust it is different air line lengths from the T down to modulator.People never change those but you are supposed to replace it @ 50,000 miles  good luck if you remove the modulator there is fluid above it so have a pan ready

Thanks.

By yoke do you mean it is a Y shape? My book shows an O shape end which is the reason I said there is no way it could fall off.

Does it just pull out? My book mentions a spring inside so I'm hesitant to pull it out.

Will a new O ring stop the leak? It didn't leak until I removed the S-B shifter, must have bumped it somehow since they aren't attached.

I remember your post about air line length and changed that a long time ago. I'm not having shifting problems with the trans, just the leak.

The Stone-Bennett slide seized because of rust but I fixed that, now I have to stop the mod leak!

All I have worked on have slotted type keeper like a yoke with a single 5/16 holding it in place I have no idea how one could have a O type bracket the keeper slides over the flange you tighten the bolt it keeps the modulator in place same on a mechanical modulator..

There is a modulator pin you need to be careful about dropping out into the pan when you remove the modulator, most of the time it is the modulator leaking and they are not serviceable lol if I could post a photo on this board I could show you how they are mounted and the pin but not happening with me here

The photo is on BCI F/B Donald I didn't have a pin to photo but it should stay inside the transmission the spring uses a snap ring to keep it in place

Thanks all, the missing yoke suddenly appears after my wiping off all the grease/oil and wearing my specs! It was painted Detroit green like all the rest and was hard to notice even with specs.

My mod is brass, are the others brass?

Also, the leak has mysteriously stopped? I added another quart just to make sure. I think now the leak was caused by the pan being loose. I had to remove three pan bolts to remove the shifter and that appears to have caused the leak. I'll check again tomorrow.

I turned the Mod while tightening the air line fitting, will that affect anything?
