My AD2 stopped purging today.  The safety release valve was kicking out air.  I've rebuilt it less than 10k miles ago and I think its time to replace it.  I've got an Eagle Model 10 with a mechanical silver series 6v92.  I'm just wondering what's the best model to replace the old AD2 with.  And is it a simple disconnect the old drier and install the new or am I going to have to replace a bunch of parts and pieces....

Thanks guys.

Personally I would put on an AD-IP or some other model/brand that utilizes a spin on desiccant cartridge. Then once a year (or two) spin the only one off and spin the new one on.

Sean, I installed an AD 9 in our Eagle several years ago as there was no drier at all. It has worked very well. You won't be disappointed.

I got my ad9 installed a couple of years ago.  Very easy.  I got a reman unit on ebay for $110.   Here is a 24v one under $110.   I don't know if your 12v or 24v but it does matter because of the drain heater.

Just mount that sucker in a place easy to access for service those bolt can be a bear when they corrode a little and pay close attention to manufactures recommendation for piping length between the compressor and dryer.

I am with Krank on AD-IP the AD 9 is a good dryer but the AD-IP is a better one so are the later models of the Bendix dryers  JMO

IIRC, the AD-IP costs twice as much... not sure it is twice as good.

is there a core charge on the AD-IP ?

I changed over to the IP I didn't like crawling under the front of the bus to service the AD-9 the IP makes it a 5 minute job compared to a hour job for the AD-9 in the same location.Do you want old technology or newer it's kinda like cell phones or computers I paid 170 bucks for my IP from Freight Liner new no core charge

well there you go, my dryer is in the old AC compressor bay, easy peasy :)

$170 is a super good deal.
