Why do some insist on bring political or prejudical comments to a discussion of bus questions?  It turns people off, it alienates those who may wish to contribute, it redirects peoples good will in helping others, it has nothing to do with the topic, you  are in a bigger world when you are on this forum, let us not diverge into politics, for a simple jab at something, that may turn more away, many of the people who do this would be sorry they did this if they saw the reaction people have, if they were to see the reaction in a face to face discussion, off my soap box, tom, lvmci...

mentioning a politicians name is harmless (to me), it leaves some to the imagination/speculation, however, beyond that, the way a person responds to that, leaving nothing to the imagination, only allows the reader to learn more about the writer's/respondent's character.
or perhaps it is an indication of the amount of whine they had last night..... ???

Indeed, political discussions are not appropriate for the main forum board.  Because some do have a desire to discuss it, or perhaps obsessed with discussing it, we created a special board for that so that everyone else doesn't have see them on the main board.  Since that board was created, most people abide by that and do their political posts in that board.  If a thread on the main board turns political, we will generally split the thread and send the political part to that board.  If it is too entwined with the on-topic replies, then we may simply delete the political replies.  If you see a political reply or post on the main board, just click the report to moderators link on the lower right of the post/reply.

LOL the political posts are like new born babies compared to some of the post about buses, engines, transmissions, tires, batteries, heating, propane, anti freeze, oil and the list goes on  ;D JMO just don't read it that is the way I do.

I have been around these boards so long I see the same topic being discussed over and over for 20 years nothing is going to change enjoy what you have because it is what it is

These issues aren't unique to this board. This goes on on ALL forums or boards to some degree at various times. Just a function of differing personalities, and maturities. Just don't let it get to you. It does add flavor to it. BTW, a full moon definitely flares things up for some. You can deduce some personalities by checking how many "ignores" they have accumulated.

Clifford, as many times as you have answered the same questions you should have a list of answers somewhere. Then you could just copy & paste when the same subject appears again.

I admit I could not do what you do. I would have lost my patience along time ago. Heck, I've already lost my patience! I get aggravated with ME now!   ;D ;D

If a manual on politics is to be written don't saddle that responsibility on Cliff, he's to busy with bus Q&A's, I would nominate Sonja, 😄, she has her head screwed on straight when it comes to that !!
