Had reservations in an RV park beginning Monday. I specifically requested a pullthru site to accomodate 40' w/toad. Was told 'no problem'. First, I couldn't negotiate the tight turn into the site, so I had to pull across the street into a small business parking lot and back about half a block (not a straight back-unhitched the toad first if you were wondering). By this time, I had an audience as people came out on the street to see what all the noise was about. I managed to back it in on the first attempt and was sitting right where I wanted it. Owner said I needed to put planks under the tires because the gravel was too soft for my weight. We set boards beside all the tires and I pulled forward, set the boards in place and proceeded to back up. Instead of climbing onto the boards, I sunk. At this point, the owner is waving for me to keep moving. I can tell the tires have broken loose and all I will do is dig myself in deeper, so I set the brake, the high idle, and climb out. After digging in front of the rear tires about 3 feet, I am able to move forward and out of the site. Owner is upset that I destroyed his site. I rake it out and fill in the divets. It's raining, it's cold, and it's getting late by this time. I set the boards down into the soft gravel and pull onto them (close enough anyway). Plug into the pod and immediately pop the breaker. The breaker box is black inside from previous guests doing the same thing. I reset it and hope for the best before moving on to water-my hose fitting decided it had enough too. A walk to the hardware store to buy a new hose (didn't have the right fittings to fix my old one which was insulated and wrapped with heat tape). Thank God for rum. I think I'll go on RV Park Reviews and vent now LOL

I hope you will be unstuck,  when the time comes around to leave that place.

As a general rule I never leave pavement unless I have a solid gold assurance I am not going to bury the coach. And if a park owner insists his sites are OK, then he has to assume responsibility for getting me out or I am outa there. So far so good. I've pissed off a few but haven't been buried.

What Jon said.  I put mine on its belly once in my own yard.  It wasn't pretty and it took some really big rigging to get it out.  I've parked on lots of dirt or gravel sites but you pretty quickly get to recognize the ones that are dodgy.
