Hi, RJ,

No, I haven't given any thought to a truck/bus.

I don't think that I would like to have one but I won't say no and will have to do some looking.

I appreciate the lead.

Enjoy your new deal.

Ros

Ros -

Have you thought perhaps of one of these as an alternative to a coach?

Hi, James and good to talk with you again.

I thank you for your encouraging post.  Some positive support goes a long way.

Unfortunately, I no longer have your number.  I turned on the computer today and found a virus had deleted all of my phone numbers, emails, passwords and a lot of bookmarks.  Would you pm it to me again?

Very interesting about your bus and I am so looking forward to getting one and getting the heck out of Dodge.  I intend to both live in it and travel some, too.  I want to check and repair everything so that I, like you, can feel as confident as I can in going somewhere.

Regarding getting a friend, I already have the best friend on earth, she is a medium sized Doberman Pincer and I would do anything for her and likewise she.  She is about ten years old and since my wife died, she sticks to me like glue.  She is the sweetest, most gentle and friendly dog that I have ever had.  I never had children so I brag on her like a child.

The bus in TN has just about everything that I want.  I know my 'daughter' will love it, too.

Take care,

Ros

Hey Ros,

This is James from south GA.  We talked on the phone the other day.  I have been reading many of the post from everyone to you and back and forth.  Just do what you feel is best.  Everyone has different thoughts but only you know the path you want to head down.  My bus is not fancy and yes I do have a few more bucks in it than your current budget.  However, I have seen others have a decent bus, driving it and living in it for less than your budget.  Is it going to compete with looks, safety, amenities, and etc, etc. that the high price buses cost? NO.

Not to bore you but...About a year after we had got our bus we decided to take it to Miami and visit the keys with our toad.  When we arrived at the state park they had us parked next to a NEWELL.  If you know anything about them you know they are very pricey.  Funny thing though.  The owner was just as interested in my 1982 MCI 9 as I was in his Newell.  We had a great time talking buses.  Also, my family and I had the discussion about the difference of cost of the two etc.  Funny thing...I guarantee you that his family had no more fun than we did.  Also we got there and back in our old 1981 even driving/sitting in Miami traffic.  We had a blast.  I also think that was the week my family truly fell in love with our bus.  Even when I make comments about selling or swapping our bus they all say no they love our bus.  Did I say it is not extremely nice.  It is nice but very minimal with everything you need to camp.  The coach had a basic conversion when I bought it and we have changed some things to what we want.  The main thing is we maintain her and keep everything in working order.  Sometimes it does make you crazy....but when you get behind the wheel and drive it for awhile and sit next to it with the family in the campground you can't beat it.

I know some of your troubles from our conversation and I say FWIW...Find a bus, get you a friend like a dog or cat and go make some new memories without the worries of that house etc...  If you have problems with the bus..get it somewhere to either have someone else fix it or take your time fixing it in your own time.  From what I can tell you won't be in a hurry to get from point a to point b anyway.  Also once your rid of the house your budget will begin to go in the correct direction.  Good luck with that.

I hope you find a bus and if I can ever help you let me know.  You have my number so if you are ever around south GA give me a call and we can get together.  Don't let the comments bother you.  I had to take a break from reading this forum for awhile before because some people do get negative for whatever reason.  Whether they begin trying to help or not I do not know.  I do know you can find a wealth of info on here and most of these guys will bend over backwards to help you.  It is a great place and I hope to meet many on this forum.

Best Wishes,
James
