I've been using this nifty GPS Speedometer app in my phone for well... a speedometer but it has alot more built into it. (Tracks trips, elevation, HUD function) The name of the app is Ulysee Speedometer.

One of the neat things it will do is to track your 0-60 time and your 1/4 mile time from a dead stop.  So say you are driving and come to a red light.  Once you reach zero miles per hour and start to excelerate then the timers automatically start.  Be sure to turn on record so you can go back and get it off your phone.  Don't be trying to take a screen shot while cruising down the road.

If your feeling competitive then go out and download the app and lets see what your bus can do.  Lets try and be honest here so we can all get good feedback.
I don't want to see you 0-60 from the suped up Honda accord you drive to work every day.

List some details - stretch of road, engine type, injector type and timings, type of bus, model and year, bus weight, bus color (I've heard red buses go faster)

Also -  as a disclaimer, I am not responsible for anyones actions in using this app or what you do while driving your bus.  Please be safe.  Dont use your phone while driving. Set it up and forget it.  Don't be distracted and most of all, this is for informational purpose only.  I have no affiliation with Ulysee Speedometer and I take no responsibility for your actions if you choose to use this program while driving the bus.  And please keep it to the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile.  We don't need stories of dead bus nuts trying to see what their 0-100mph times were.

Here is a screenshot for reference.  It'll be a few months before I can post my times -

This could be useful info.  How many times have we had someone begin a post "My bus seems down on power ..."   If my bus did 0-60 in 11 seconds two weeks ago and 15 seconds now, I'd want to know why and I would feel that i had a good benchmark to indicate when the problem was fixed.  And, I agree, distance and altitude variation would be helpful in trip planning etc.

Yvan - It might be an Android only app.  There may be something similar but I'm not an apple guy so I'd be no help in that arena.

I use this app on a 7" tablet mounted in Landscape mode that fits just underneath the steering wheel.  Works marvelously.
