I need inspiration for decorating the ceiling of our bus. We plan on hardwood flooring and Pine for the walls. The cabinets on each side are staying, but probably painted white. I would like something different on the ceiling.

Dave and Amy, GREAT technical video.  Mush of the same ideas I've been thinking as I "plan" the inside of my unit.  It was great to see how well you've integrated everything, especially the chases.  Those led lights are great.  I'm using them now as I work on the inside, I've got 80' of rope light and they work well considering that the inside is just the inside of the outer shell with no insulation or paneling.  Great job.  Don

Just getting started. Bags are in, interior metal out ready to insulate and cover, then do the floor

I like to compare the ceiling in the bus, that is your mobile home, to the ceiling in your stationary home. Would you put vinyl, or fabric, or diamond button tuck and roll, etc on the ceiling? I think you're ceiling looks just fine the way it is. Concentrate on the walls and cabinets. Otherwise a complicated ceiling will distract from your walls and cabinets. Good Luck, TomC

I plan on using 48"-wide rolls of 1/4"-thick cork glued to the ceiling, to thermally insulate, to deaden reflected noise, and to cover the multitude of dents and all the rivet heads there now!   I'll paint it semi-gloss / satin white to help create a feeling of spaciousness  -  darker-colored ceilings always make a bus interior seem smaller that it actually is.   Grainger sells it in different thicknesses and lengths: https://www.grainger.com/product/QUIETCORK-Roll-Stock-4NLZ6   So does Manton:   https://shop.mantoncork.com/1-4-inch-thick-length-64-feet-and-up/

Above the side windows I now have wiring chases running the full length of the bus, and they have lots of speakers and Grote 61031 interior lights in them  -  I'll probably keep the speakers as background or Hafler difference speakers for my eventual stereo system, but I'll convert most of the lights to individually-switchable LED lamps.   Above these wiring chases I was thinking of putting aluminum 1/2" channel, inside which LED rope lights will shine upwards for diffuse lighting against the ceiling (that's another reason to have the ceiling white), and this channel will also be at the end of each piece of ceiling cork.

I think just painting it a bright color (white) will keep the light in the coach.  A nice touch is usually taking some wood that's stained to match or compliment the other wood in the coach and use it for ribbing across the coach or just for seems and trim.
