Only 8 tries to post this picture. Needed side hinge because of slide outs.  one hinge under rub rail and one at top under skin.  Used original door lock. Works good and smooth.   Bob

   Maybe use some stainless steel piano hinge?  Good idea for your situation. The hinges ARE to the front of coach?

No suicide doors here. Hinge to front. On prevost frame would have to modified door post stainless and cut 1/4 inch off door frame for piano.  have 2 piano 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 here (marine industry ) The door frame has a 3/8 lip bent toward inside of coach. Was a fit decision.  Bob

The other day I was reading the (gazillion-page-long) technical manual for the Individual Vehicle Approval scheme (which is type-approval testing required here on first registration of kit cars, one-offs, personal imports etc). Obviously the manual is deeply formal and legalistic in every way, but I was amused to see that 'suicide door' was a officially-used term - I'd have expected a Government publication to have said something boring and prosaic such as 'rear-hinged door'

Bob did you rivet or bolt the hinges on. My door weights 82 lbs. I would think they would rip those hinges out. I might be wrong.

Stainless rivets.  3/16th  shear 800 lbs each.  5 per hinge
