PD-4104 Specific Group

I started a PD-4104 specific group on Yahoo.  The main purpose is to have a place to collect documents and pictures that are 4104 specific.  I am going to start posting what I have already collected.  Feel free to join and add anything you may have as well.

I also created a simple database on there to store serial number info.  We can add fields if we need to.  Now the file space is limited to 100 megs, but I can store big files on my servers and we can just link to them.

I applaud your efforts Vern. I also wish you luck with Yahoo groups. As an 04 owner, I will check it out. I have belonged to about seven different groups on Yahoo (all bus related). Ever since their new roll-out of the "improved" turd of a system, there has been little to No activity on any of those sites. In my opinion they have wrecked a perfectly good thing they had going. It is now as user friendly as a blind porcupine. I wish Yahoo would have left it alone. I had thousands of photos stored on those group sites that now anyone can barely access. I'm not shooting the messenger, but there has got to be a better (free) way to run a website. I pay something like $75 a year for Go-Daddy to host my website (wordpress style), and I hate the whole thing. That format sucks too.This website, and BNO use "simple machines" format (I think that what it's called) and I love how easy it is to actually do things. I need to make a change for my site, but too much going on to fool with it. Anybody got any free geek advice? Stick to paper and pen right! Forget about these here comp-u-taters. Sorry for the rant Vern. I hope your site does well!

I run my own servers and at some point will look at hosting something on them, I just don't have time to find and install anything right now.  There are a lot of systems out there like PHPBB and such, but nothing that has all of the tools in one place.  While I like these forums, there is not a good way to store pictures and documents in forums like this. 

I will probably have to put the pieces together to get what I really want and that will take time.

that's in addition to Tom's complaint that every Yahoo upgrade doesn't look like one (at least from Tom's & my perspective).

Yes, but like I said it was a way to get things moving until I get the software installed on my servers to provide all of the functionality needed.  I need a forum, that is easy I have already run PHPBB in the past.  I need a picture gallery that allows uploads from authenticated user and I need a file repository setup the same way.  There are a lot of different software packages out there and I have to find the right ones that not only function the way we want, but will work with the servers I have.

yaas, BTDT !!! when I was in the biz, we spent more time evaluating/testing packages than anything else.  Some things never change.
