I put in a Danby 9 cu ft with a bottom freezer and stainless steel look last fall. It works great after I replaced the fan in the freezer compartment twice. It is a 12 volt fan that broke down the second time in just over a week. The dealer said they use them to meet the energy star rating but they are garbage. I put in a 110 volt fan and have had no problem since. It is an automatic defrost model so ice build up isn't an issue. I have a dedicated 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter that powers it.

Also have a 12/24V. 8 cu. ft. chest freezer, holds -15 in this Az. heat, love it.
What make and model is it?   I'm probably going to use a chest freezer converted to run as a fridge, and a 12VDC model would avoid needing a separate dedicated inverter for it.
