Generator/Alternator Question

Getting ready to remove my Alternator to have rebuilt due to not charging. I noticed a air line going to it. Does anyone know the function of a air line to it is?

It's an oil line

It's got two small hoses, one will be an oil pressure in line to the rectifier section and one will be a vent line off the top of the alternator case.  There is also a 1" or so oil drain line on the bottom.

Ok, its on the top so it is probably the vent you mentioned.
