Seeking Advice on Basement AC Units

Here was my solution. I used the new generation AMCOR 14 000 BTU house A/C that only consumes 1200 Watts at full blast. Put it in my bay and cut the control panel and extended the wires so I can control it from the inside. My exhaust is vented to my generator room. It works awesome, super quiet, remote controlled and shoots ice cubes

Ok, just wanted to note that I had several people contact me about the A/C unit I mentioned earlier in this thread. I'm considering it sold at this point.

I wasn't aware you could actually make ducts out of duct tape!

All the different info is great!  Thanks to everyone for contributing their ideas and setups.

The Coleman Two Ton basement unit looks like a good solution.  I like that it has two compressors that both run on separate 20 amp circuits, basically enabling 24k btu output with 120 volts. 

Has anyone seen or experienced Marine AC units installed in a conversion?  I recall that Clifford mentioned that some of the professionally built coaches were using marine units.

I'll keep updating this thread as I progress with this project....

Cruiseair has air cooled condensers that you can use with most any of the marine evaporators for basement use. They use the condenser in the basement with the Freon lines coming up to the evaporator-less space then a 6" duct in and a 8" duct return. Expensive, but long lasting. Good Luck, TomC
