Siskiyou County presents the Strings and Threads Bluegrass Festival

The inaugural event, of what will become an annual festival, is August 25 – 31, 2014 @Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds, Yreka, CA. This is just south of the Oregon state border just off hwy 5.

The fairground has: 24 spots for 35-40' RVs; 75 spots for 25' and under RVs; plus tent and dry camping. Spots with hook-ups which include electric (30 amp) and water are $25.00 per night; there is a dump station on site.  Also, there will be a mobile pump-out service (an extra charge) if you do not wish to move your vehicle.

This year there are no FMCA, Good Sam's, Passport America or other discounts – they're being checked on for next year.

However, if you mention on your payment for the festival (which is also where you pay for the camping) that you're a 'BUS NUT', you get a $5.00 discount for the 3-day festival ticket (you just send $40.00 instead of $45.00 for the music portion) this year and will be entered into a drawing for a free week of camping and bluegrass tickets for next year's festival. All payments are by snail mail and check.

There are still vendor spots available – which includes a ticket for the festival (as long as your booth has someone to cover sales). Check with the Chamber of Commerce (Corey), Gene Bach (#s listed at Chamber site) or the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds (Chris) 530 842-2767 for information not found in this note. All of these nice people are easy to speak with and what info they don't have, they will get for you.

While this isn't a bus rally, nor are we sponsoring anything, we will be at the fairground from            8/24–9/2/14 for what looks like to be a great 'end-of summer' event. So please let us know if you're there; we'd love to meet other bus nuts.  It looks like there will be lots of interesting things to do in the week leading up to the actual music portion of the festival (see the web sites for more info). We should be in spot 32C and will have a vendor booth for the festival.

Thanks Phil. yep we do also. The Wife make Neck coolers and scarves out of Donated Tee-shirts and material we hand them out at the Veteran Stand Downs. She will bring a bunch up there but will sell them to gain back some of the costs that we have put out so she can get more materials for the winter hand outs. She is a VN-era Veteran  herself and on the Stand down comity. And of course do some relaxing and maybe meet a few Western States Busnuts or any other Busnuts that might be in the area at the time.

This will be our first back on the road trip also in 2 years. Looking forward to it. ;D

Just a follow up, in case anyone was planning on going. We got an email today and they have canceled the event due to the two large forest fires in northern California. It just to close and to dangerous. All monies paid will be returned.

Darn just got new tires for the Bus too, guitar was tuned and polished and the wife has made a lot of product to sell for the show!.. Maybe next year.
