Who the heck is Sonnie Gray and why does he (if he is a he) spell his name like a girl. Shouldn't it be Sonny?  Forgive me my trespasses, it been a sunny day here for the first time in two weeks and I am giddy with delight.  I am three quarters of the way through changing my rear air springs,  I have painted my rear wheels, I am starting to feel positive about a 3,000 mile trip I am leaving on in two weeks (to take a newly restored customer car to it's first car race, always stressful in itself).  I have been thinking about my departed father a lot today, and so I am truly delighted to wish Sonnie Gray a happy birthday, and hope we meet one day!

Now on the name thing: The only people I've known named Sonny were males so I don't get the question.  On the other hand, I did have a customer named Carol.  The locals all called him Carl so I made the mistake of putting "Carl" on his customer account.  I only did that once.  He told me "My mother named me Carol so that's good enough for me."  Hard to argue with that logic.

Happy birthday Sonnie! Deb and I will vouch for what a great guy he is. He and Mike (a friend of his) saved our trip when we lost the compressor on our 4104. And they did it on a Sunday! They hit that compressor like a NASCAR pit crew, and we were on our way in a few hours. All they would accept from us was our thanks. I can't imagine two nicer bus folks. It is still one of our favorite fireside tales to tell. Best wishes Sonnie, always.
