Stainless Mesh Source

Hello,

I'm looking for a supplier of some stainless mesh/grill. Ideally the mesh/grill would be similar to the mesh on the MCI air conditioning condenser grill. This will be to finish off the vent return for the over the road air. I need a piece about 6" tall by about 18" long.

Believe it or not, Grainger carries it! and in small sizes part # 5PCT0 , # 5PCU9

Wow! That is way more expensive than I expected!

Maybe I'll just go with some stainless screen with 1/4" size openings. Makes the $36 quote for a 2x2 piece look real attractive.

Check Discount's drop cut bin. You might luck out and find what you're looking for there and it's sold by the pound. Much cheaper than buying new.

I realize you probably don't get to Minneapolis much these days. Might be a steel supplier in New Ulm that would have some.

Grainger is super expensive for most items. I've seen stuff at Grainger for three to four times the price elsewhere. I think they only stay in business because other businesses already have Grainger as an approved vendor and they have a lot of the stuff in stock. Time is money in the business world and they don't always have time to shop around.

Grainger is an industrial supplier and those kind of businesses are always a lot more expensive. They cater to big construction firms and manufacturer's and carry things they can't get in other places. Then they also get big discounts because they buy 100's to thousand's of units of whatever they need and then you and me help pay for those things.
