climbed Wolf Creek Pass

Took the bus over Wolf Creek Pass yesterday going eastbound. I think it is the 6th time I've crossed it with the Eagle. Water temp on the 6v92 climbed as high as 200 which at that point mister activation ensued promptly dropping it back to 180. What concerned me was my oil temp which climbed to 250 for about 15 minutes. I didn't like that. I was was pulling a small pickup. Don't remember if this was the case on previous climbs. The run down the hill was perfect with the Voith tranny retarder doing the work keeping my speed under control.

We are sitting a Fun Valley in Southfork for a few days then back to Texas heat next week. We've been out almost a month with no problems in the coach at all. It's been a great trip so far.

I've got La Veta pass and Raton pass on the way home. Hope it all goes well.

Why the concern over the oil temp David most 6v92's are normal at 200 to 250 some depending on the turbo model and injectors are 200 to 235 the 250 sounds good to me pulling that pass with tow vehicle

I think you'll find Raton Pass quite a bit easier than Wolf Creek. For one thing, it's lower in elevation by at least a couple of thousand feet. For another, Raton, like Eisenhowere to the north, is on the Interstate, and in my opinion the wider roadway makes it feel less precarious.

Loveland Pass on 6 is the killer in the Rockies 12,000 ft at 6 to 7 grade all the way to the top

No kidding. You couldn't pay me to take that pass in our coach. Done it many times in a car with snow tires though. Closes frequently in the winter anyway and you're stuck to the tunnel. Here's a pic of my supercharged Bonneville at the top (on our way to snowboard Copper Mountain.

Made it over La Veta pass and Raton pass and sitting in Pampa TX today. No problems. Heading home to S Tx on Friday back to 103 degrees

Kind of depressed after 3 weeks in the mountains. Travelled about 1500 miles so far with no bus problems. It's been a great trip. It's nice to have things go right and keep Murphy away.
