Electrical question!

My road AC is disconnected and the compressor is still located in the back, I want to remove it but there is an electrical box feeding it.
aswell as some other wires. What should I do to remove it?   The bus is a 1976 MCI-5B repowered with an 8v-92.

Not sure what you mean by "electrical box feediing it". Typically, the wires to the sensors on the compressor were routed back into the electrical junction box in the rear. You can either remove all the wires back to that point, or simply terminate them when you cut them from the compressor by folding them back onto themselves and securing with electrical tape, and securing to the frame of the bus so they don't flop around. Note that some of the wires in the bundle going to the compressor are probably spares, tail light feeds, etc, so be sure what you are removing should you decide to go that way. The manual will list specific wires and connections related to the A/C.

Hi Steve,

Some of the older MCI's had the relay boxes mounted to the frame support of the compressor bracket.

Viewable from the side access door. If this is what you have, then the boxes can't be removed if you are still

using the house blower for heat unless you know the wireing diagrams to isolate them. You can Just leave

the boxes there with no harm..
