Sold - MCI 1995 DL3. DD S60 with a Allison B500.

I am going to check it out now - and If i do replace it...I will keep the 4 pulley system with all the hens teeth I have been collecting.  I will post a picture of what I am working with.

You never did say if you tried turning it by hand?

As Melbo said, it may be that the belts were loose.

I've had this happen on only a 105 amp alt.

These belts must be tight, these heavy alt will slip belts very easily.

There is a reason they use two belts!

I just got out there to check it.  It does NOT turn by hand...not at all.  The belts definately were tight.
Am I right to assume the fan like blades mean air cooled?

That is air cooled, not oil cooled.

I sound like Ed's parrot, but that is totally air cooled ;D.

That is one nasty looking engine bay, sorry to say. I used to think ours was bad. Not anymore ;)
