I was inquiring how many members have GMC fishbowls, it would help me to speak to others with the same type of bus as i repair her and try to figure out all of the systems that need TLC. 1971 GMC 5305,8v-71,Allison VS-8 push button trans.

I have a 1967 SDM5302 suburban fishbowl (ex Public Service of New Jersey) that is still a seated coach and is being restored as a historic vehicle.

Mine is a 1969 T8H-5305a. I've only had mine 6 weeks and learning the systems the hard way

. I also have 8v71 and the VS2-8 Tranny. I'm currently in Farmington, NM having a full rebuild on the motor. I could probably use a friend to bounce questions off as well. The folks here are super helpful with any questions I have had so far.

Good to hear about other members with Fishbowls, I've had mine for about 11 months with two months in the shop due to a breakdown on the steepest grade in Oregon,lost all power can't begin to tell you what that was like! got her home after an 8 hour ride, she did not like going up hills on the freeway. Still working on her cleaning up poor workmanship by others, very very nicely done interior, has two skinner valves on top of the VS2-8 not sure what they do? It keeps me out of trouble working on her. Thanks to all who responded.

This is more like it. Now I don't feel lonely anymore! A lot more of you guys have fishbowls than I would have thought. That is really terrific. Aside from mine, I have seen a couple of others in the NYC area recently. One is a mobile classromm dubbed the Bio-Bus. It is an ex Golden Gate Transit fishbowl that has been stripped out and turned into a mobile learning center. I have also seen another GGT bowl (what are the odds?) That is a presrved coach. I caught sight of it in Manhattan and then saw it in Staten island on a YouTube video.
